The Brief
Beacon Country House Hotel are based in Cornwall. They approached us to help them with the redesign of their (at the time) ageing website.
Faced with stiff competition from hotels around them and the rest of Cornwall, Beacon Hotel wanted to stand out by promoting their spectacular vantage point and proximity to some of the best walks along the Cornish coast.
The Approach
Having previously worked with Nigel (the hotel owner) on other projects we conducted a strategy overview to understand where Beacon currently where and where they wanted to go. We also spent time identifying their points of difference in their marketplace and their target customers.
Through a series of prototypes, progressing from simple wireframes through to the eventual high-fidelity designs, we were able to gather feedback from Beacon Hotel and align a high impact approach towards their customers.
The Result
The litmus test for the website was in ensuring that Beacon Hotel did not drive away their current clientele, whilst gathering a stream of new enquiries. The website achieved a positive result on both accounts with new enquiries coming through the contact forms and acclaim from the current customer base.
